In March, 2025 Wildlife Queensland welcomed Dr John Tracey as its new CEO, bringing over 25 years of expertise in wildlife research, management and biosecurity. John has led major reforms in his previous role with the NSW Department of Primary Industries, secured millions in critical environmental and biosecurity funding, and built partnerships across the government, research, and conservation sectors.
Wildlife Queensland https://wildlife.org.au/ (also known as Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland) is Queensland’s longest-running non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving Queensland’s native wildlife and habitat. Wildlife Queensland encourages governments to protect threatened habitats, from the coast to the rainforest, and has coordinated projects that conserve threatened species, educate communities and raise awareness of wildlife conservation issues.
